Who we are

EB Media Inc. is a web design and development company based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This policy covers information collected through ebmediasolutions.com. It does not cover websites we build and host for clients — those are governed by each client’s own privacy policy.

What we collect

We collect two kinds of information.

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form on this site, we receive your name and email address, and, if you choose to provide them, your business or organization name, phone number, estimated budget, project timeline, and the message you write. We also record which page of our site you submitted the form from, so we can understand which parts of the site are useful.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — pages viewed, roughly how long people stay, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location derived from IP address. This is statistical and we do not use it to identify individuals.

How we use it

Information you submit through the contact form is used to reply to you and to discuss the project you contacted us about. If you become a client, it becomes part of our ordinary business records.

Analytics information is used to improve the website — which pages people find, which they leave, and what needs rewriting.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes. We do not add you to a mailing list because you filled in the contact form.

Third-party services

A small number of third parties process data as part of running this site:

• Google Analytics — website usage statistics. Google sets cookies to do this. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on.
• Adobe Fonts — the typefaces on this site load from Adobe, which means Adobe receives a request from your browser when you load a page.
• Our email provider — contact form submissions are delivered to us by email and stored in our inboxes.

Each of these operates under its own privacy policy.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies of its own for advertising or tracking. The cookies present come from Google Analytics, as described above.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will continue to work normally without them.

Where your information is stored

This website is hosted on servers located in Canada. Contact form submissions arrive as email and are stored in our email accounts. Analytics data is held by Google and may be processed outside Canada under Google’s own terms.

How long we keep it

We keep contact enquiries for as long as we may reasonably need them — to answer follow-up questions, to maintain a record of work discussed, and to meet any record-keeping obligations that apply to us. If you would like your enquiry deleted, ask us and we will do it.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You can also withdraw consent for us to hold it, subject to any legal obligation we have to keep records.

Email info@ebmedia.ca and we will respond. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems that hold enquiry information is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
